Pain / lump in ...could this be a cyst?

I'm 27 years old and have had this lump and pain in my left for about 3 weeks now. The lump is large and very hard. It's not under my arm so I ume that rules out a swollen lymphnode. I did some research online regarding cancer lumps and everything I have read says normally there is no pain with the lump. My mother has had 3 cyst in her . Not sure if that is hereditary. Anyways I know a lot of you will say to see a doc. and get the exam but I just signed up for insurance and it doesn't kick in for another 2 weeks. I am just curious if any of you might have an idea as to what this is. Maybe calm my nerves before going in...or not.
