Recommend a good book! (17 year old)?

One of my favorite books is one that may be out of print now. It was a sci-fi novel by Clifford D. Simak called “City.” The story consists of about 8 chapters, each one of which is in itself a short story. The book traces the generations of a single family through more than 10,000 years of fictional history, beginning around 1999. (The book was written in the late 40s or early 50s.) In each chapter, a member of the family makes a mistake that affects the lives of all the family members in the following chapters. It’s fairly easy reading and it’s fun!
